Esafety at Hook Infant School

At Hook Infant School we take our responsibilities very seriously in ensuring your children are kept safe. This includes in both their everyday environments and also in the virtual, online world. As society is becoming ever more entwined in technological advances, our children have a greater access to the internet and at a much earlier age.

Even if your child does not have regular access to the internet, it is vital that we build in an understanding of some of the dangers and the knowledge of how to stay safe online. Most of our e-safety focus is in Year 1 & 2, but we do introduce the basic elements in Year R.

During the recent parent's e-safety survey, there were several responses asking for advice to use at home. In response to those requests, we hope to use this page as a library of resources for parents and carers to learn more about e-safety, as well as providing news and information on viruses and other computer security issues.

We will try to update the information on this page regularly, so keep checking back. Scroll down for links to advice, resources and reporting.

With the MOMO challenge widespread in the news and across media channels, we have uploaded a poster below, from the National Online Safety organisation and linked to Parentzone's Three Minute Briefing on the challenge.
Advice on Setting Parental Controls
The link below will take you to the Internet Matters website, with a searchable database to find parental control guides for broadband, devices, browsers, apps and more.

The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) is a Command of the National Crime Agency.

Has someone acted inappropriately towards you online, or to a child or young person you know? It may be sexual chat, being asked to do something that makes you feel uncomfortable or someone being insistent on meeting up. You can report it to CEOP by clicking the REPORT ABUSE button below.

Click on the logo below to be taken to ParentInfo, an eSafety website created by CEOP and ParentZone. ParentInfo lists a range of eSafety articles for your use.

We have also added more pages to this section which you can access via the menu on the left.
