Road Safety Information

Good afternoon,

The Road Safety Team are always shocked to hear how many children don’t always wear their seatbelt, even as young as Year 5 pupils, so we are aware that this is such an important message and could save children’s and their families lives.

Below is a Sway link that which highlights information about the use of booster seats as well as seatbelts and reminds parents of the seatbelt laws.

National Numeracy Day - 21st May

Dear parent/carer,

Wednesday 21 May is National Numeracy Day – the UK’s only day dedicated to everyday maths.

It’s a day that celebrates the importance of numbers for both children and adults alike, building brighter futures through confidence with numeracy and inspiring everyone to improve their skills.

The charity National Numeracy has teamed up with celebrities and experts to create free, fun and engaging activities for all ages to get involved in and feel good about numbers together!

We have lots of free, fun activities planned for your children to take part in at school, as well as resources they can use at home.

In school we’ll be bringing the number fun into lessons, as well as starting the day with a livestreamed assembly event on the morning of the day itself, and taking part in the Number Heroes Competition – a drawing competition all about using numbers in jobs and hobbies, through which children can win a prize for themselves as well as a prize bundle for the school worth hundreds of £££s.

We will also be encouraging children (and staff!) to dress up in the theme of Number Heroes. From well-known mathematician or inventors, to crafting a calculator costume, or simply wearing an item of clothing with numbers or shapes on it – however you choose to interpret the theme, it’ll be a great way to celebrate all things numbers.

And one of the best ways to support children to feel good about numbers is to feel confident yourself, and creative a maths-positive environment. National Numeracy has lots of free resources to help adults, so you can support your children with maths, and boost your own numeracy skills too!

Head to the National Numeracy Day website to find out more and access free resources: https://www.nationalnumeracy.org.uk/numeracyday

Kind regards,

Mrs Bulpitt

Our website has had a spring clean and is now looking shiny and new. We have changed the categories and layout so it will hopefully be a much better experience for you when browsing on handheld devices as well as laptops and desktops. We have changed our News category to be more like a one page blog (as you can see below), so you can scroll between newsletters and alerts without changing pages or searching for older news. We will be adding more content now it is live, so keep checking back.
