Penguin Class Flashmob 25/11/22

Children from Penguin Class continued with removing deep rooted weeds from the vegetable beds behind Year 2. Some of them had roots that were so deep, we had to use a pickaxe. We started the session with a tool talk to make sure all the children knew how to use the tools safely.

There were a few teasel plants that were easy to pull out, but we used secatuers to harvest the seed heads which were empty. These will be used for arts and crafts in class. We also cut down the teasel stems which are hollow and great for making mini beast homes. These were piled next to the minibeast hotel, to be used another day.

When we had finished weeding, we removed the waste to the compost bins.
