Inside school this week…

As everyone reaches the end of a very long half term we do so looking forward to lots of Year 1 Pirate cheer on Thursday. Walk the plank, climb the rigging and find the treasure will be an integral part of the day.

Thank you for your harvest donations which were very gratefully received with thanks by all at the Hart Food Bank.

We are looking forward to celebrating your child’s work at our Parent Consultations for Year 1 and Year 2 parents this week. Year R will be having “drop-in” sessions for parents so that your child can show you their new world, friends and work the week after half term.

Year 2 are looking forward to their workshop delivered by Seacity after half term to learn all about the Titanic disaster.

At the end of this letter are term dates for the next half term. Dates are included for non-uniform days where collections are made for both Children in Need and Save The Children. Now is the time to browse the charity shops for those all important Christmas Jumpers.

Dates for Christmas performances will be detailed after half term, however 2 tickets will be available per child closer to the time.
Recommended Reads and Author of the Month
Along with our new Anima Phonics reading scheme, the Library has had some updating. We have introduced Mrs Ruffman’s recommended read of the week, an Author of the Month and a Topic of the Month. Class teachers are enhancing children’s learning for pleasure by having storytime in the library as well as access to more poetry in the classrooms. We are appreciating your feedback in your child’s reading record and have had many positive comments about the “3 reads” for each book that is sent home supporting our new Anima Phonics reading scheme.
Keeping in Touch

Safeguarding your children is our priority. Please contact the schools Designated Safeguarding Leads, either Mrs M Walker (Headteacher), Mrs L Hannan (Deputy Headteacher) or Mr P West with any concerns.
